Growth Manager - Direct Sales & Made to Measure

About The Role
We are looking for a Growth Manager to join our rapidly expanding and award winning B2B Sales team.

The Growth Manager is responsible for the Direct Sales and Made to Measure channel,  supporting the retention of existing customers as well as acquiring new business. Products include supply as well as our Made to Measure products and services, including the management of our Merchant Wind portfolio as well as the acquisition of Feed in Tariff multi-site generators.

The successful Growth Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day line management of our Direct Sales team and deliver against agreed KPI performance and staff development.

We are looking for someone who will consistently deliver exceptional leadership, coaching and mentoring to the team, and will take the lead on the largest direct opportunities which are often complex, building long term relationships.

This position is very varied, challenging, rewarding and requires good communication and organisational skills.

What you will do:

  • Deliver against the sales channels target in line with the overall B2B Sales plan
  •  Day to day line management of the Direct Sales team
  •  Development of the channels sales strategy, supporting change within Ecotricity where required
  • Acquisition of new Feed in Tariff multi-site generators
  •  Maximise sales conversion rates of the team – retention and acquisition
  • Building strong relationships with key customers and opportunities – with face-to-face meetings and full tender and proposition responses
  •  Self-generate opportunities in the direct business market via effective networking
  • Proactively assess, clarify and validate the customers’ sales needs on an ongoing basis
  • Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations – constructing formal bid proposals where required
  • Lead role in developing existing as well as supporting the launch of new products and energy services with the client – which will often be complex
  • Lead in the management of Ecotricity’s Merchant Wind portfolio
  • Work with other departments to cross promote the company brand, products and partnership opportunities – taking any opportunity to cross-sell
  •  Develop and implement new ideas when approaching a new client base
  • Management of overall pipeline activity for the channel
  • Provide support on escalations – appropriately raising with the leadership team where required
  • Host weekly meetings with channel representatives to discuss progression
  • Support back-office in providing aftersales support and customer care
  • Play a lead role in on and off-site client meetings
  • Any ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Head of B2B Sales
 
About You
Our new Growth Manager will have a real passion for our vision for a Green Britain, as well as having an energetic and dynamic approach.

You’ll be experienced in identifying new and existing opportunities along with a strong commercial acumen and will work closely with all departments to secure mutual customer targets.

Knowledge Required:

  • Excellent understanding of energy industry
  •  Strong skill level in Excel, PowerPoint SAP or similar CRM
  • Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office Packages

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to communicate to a senior level of stakeholder
  • Strong awareness of the B2B energy market
  • Analytical ability to assess and interpret data and identify opportunities
  • Ability to develop relationships and leverage added value from them – often with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations
  • High level of numeracy and problem solving ability

About Us

Ecotricity is Britain’s greenest energy company. When we started back in 1995, we were the first company in the world to supply a new kind of electricity – the green kind.

Our mission was and remains to change the way energy is made and used in Britain – by replacing fossil fuels with clean, renewable energy.  

We don’t just supply green energy, we use the money from our customers’ bills to make it ourselves too – we build windmills and sun parks in Britain. We call this ‘bills into mills’.
