Public Sector Sales Manager

£44.5k (£32k basic and £12.5k on target commission)

About The Role
We are looking for a Public Sector Sales Manager to join our rapidly expanding and award winning business sales team.

The core function of the role is to expand Ecotricity’s public sector channel in line with forecasted growth. The role holder will be responsible for delivering effective account management for a portfolio of existing and new third party intermediaries, buying groups and frameworks in order to drive new business.

This is a broad role which combines an element of selling and relationship management, often at a senior level. The Public Sector Sales Manager will work with internal stakeholders such as marketing, finance and our trading department to retain existing and attract new business alongside promoting the additional company products.

The Public Sector Sales Manager is expected to influence the wider B2B sales strategy, focusing on maximising sales efficiencies and introducing new products and services to meet overall B2B plan.

What you will do:

  • Deliver agreed individual targets in line with overall B2B plan
  • Aid in development of the Public Sector strategy supporting change within Ecotricity where required
  • Proactively assess, clarify and validate new framework agreements on an ongoing basis
  • The ongoing compliance/maintenance of the framework agreement, including regular contract reviews
  • Deliver excellent customer service through strong relationships with our partners, understanding their needs and working with them in order to achieve targets
  • Provide quotations for both Gas and Power contracts, from the initial tender, through the negotiation and acceptance stages
  • Create and communicate compelling new ideas whilst gaining the support of senior management
  •  Work with other departments to cross promote the company brand and products
  • Act as the primary liaison for our partners and direct customers when required up to a senior level
  • Develop and implement new ideas when approaching a new client base
  • Support the launch of new products and services – taking any opportunity to cross-sell
  • Support back-office in providing aftersales support and customer care
  • Attend off-site client meetings and events when required
  • Integral role in new business pitches, securing of contracts and responsibility for the effective registration of new clients
  • Various standard and ad-hoc reporting (including providing detail on all KPI’s to HOBS upon request)
About You

Knowledge Required:

  • Excellent understanding of energy industry
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP or similar CRM
  • Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office Packages

  • Awareness of the Public Sector B2B energy market
  • Analytical ability to assess and interpret data and identify opportunities

About Us

Ecotricity is Britain’s greenest energy company. When we started back in 1995, we were the first company in the world to supply a new kind of electricity – the green kind.

Our mission was and remains to change the way energy is made and used in Britain – by replacing fossil fuels with clean, renewable energy.  

We don’t just supply green energy, we use the money from our customers’ bills to make it ourselves too – we build windmills and sun parks in Britain. We call this ‘bills into mills’. In 2021, we’re starting work on building two new solar parks, and in 2022 we’re bringing geothermal energy to our customers’ fuel mix, a first in the UK. We’re also developing green gas mills which will generate 100% green gas from a source that will never run out – grass.
