Finance Analyst (Debt)

Salary Details:
£35,000- £40,000
About The Role

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the management, control and reporting of our most important and complex element of working capital – Customer Debt.

Reporting directly to the Director of Debt, you will take accountability for the following critical Debt management activities:

  • Weekly/monthly reporting of Debt and associated KPI’s (eg DSO), providing analysis, insights and commentary to Directors and Senior Managers.
  • Working closely with the Data Team and business stakeholders to drive ongoing improvements & insights in weekly/monthly reporting.
  • Preparation of quarterly Debt Burndown plans, working closely with Debt Recovery teams and key business owners.
  • Establish and maintain the Debt Improvement roadmap working with key stakeholders and business partners.  
  • Project management of key initiatives to drive improvement in Debt management, working closely with internal & external partners.
Ad-hoc analysis and insights to help drive improvement in Debt.
About You

As well as strong analytical skills, you will be a highly driven self-starter who is equally comfortable working with finance and non-finance colleagues.

You will have the ability to draw insights from complex data and present to management in a clear, concise way that supports decision making.

You will be highly organised, with an ability to plan and co-ordinate cross functional working groups and activities.


Knowledge, skills and experience:

You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a business facing finance/analytical role, ideally within a similar sized organization.

You will likely be part-qualified, studying for a recognized professional accounting qualification (eg ACCA, ACA, CIMA).

You will be an advanced Microsoft Excel user and competent in Microsoft PowerPoint.

Experience of working in the Energy sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
