If you're passionate about creating user-centred and engaging digital experiences that elevate the unique Ecotricity brand, then this could be the opportunity for you!
This role is about shaping and delivering coherent end-to-end experiences across our websites, apps and other digital tools. In this role, you should identify user needs and opportunities for innovation and improvement for our digital platforms across the business. Other responsibilities include developing digital products through creation of wireframes and prototypes and conducting user research and usability testing. You will collaborate with other designers and developers to create intuitive, user friendly products.
With an established and engaged customer base, we have a great product to sell to those who know we do the right thing as well as helping others who are ready to make their energy and sustainability impact. We are innovative, fast paced, and just plain different, with a strong commitment to our customers and their needs.
What you will do…
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders across the business to understand and interpret requirements for changes or improvements to our digital platforms.
- Identify opportunities on our websites, app and other digital assets for improvements and new features that benefit the user’s experience. This could be about improving our conversion rates to encourage new customers, or just as importantly improving ease-of-use for existing customers who are already with us (driving up satisfaction and driving down cost-to-serve). Some work may also be about improving the employee experience.
- Facilitate discovery workshops to capture and define a project’s scope and ambition.
- Conduct research such as interviews to determine customer needs.
- Develop a range of creative conceptual ideas for projects that bring simplicity, usability and accessibility to complex user experience problems.
- Formulate information architecture, site maps, and user flows to build an understanding and alignment across the team and stakeholders.
- Create storyboards or sketches to visualise and bring your UX solutions to life.
- Create interactive models and prototypes using Sketch, UXPin, InVision, etc. to simulate functionality.
- Validate ideas and designs through face-to-face usability testing and then iterate using the findings to refine the solution.
- Present UX solutions internally to the team and project stakeholders and justify the rationale behind UX decisions.
Most of the focus of the UX Designer is associated with our Ecotricity energy and Ecotalk telecoms products, although some support for our other businesses (such as Sky Diamonds, Devil’s Kitchen or Forest Green Rovers) is also part of the role.
