Established in 2012, the GBF exists to fulfil the charitable priorities of philanthropist, environmentalist and advocate for a sustainable Britain, Dale Vince OBE.
The GBF is funding and managing programmes across education, sport, green initiatives, and animal rights - with the aim of encouraging and empowering people to live more sustainably. The Foundation also funds research and analysis, legal challenges, investigations and re-wilding programmes to fulfil its vision.
The work of the GBF focuses on several priorities which are rooted in our commitments to energy, transport, food and nature to create a greener Britain. We have four pillars:
Empowering People and Communities
Working within the framework of schools and sports settings we share knowledge, resources and skills, with a view to empowering people to live more sustainably.
Environmental stewardship
The Green Britain Foundation is committed to making space for nature. Our work focuses on restoration, conservation and sustainable practices to enhance ecosystem resilience and human wellbeing.
Policy, campaigns and advocacy
We support movements and campaigns; we share knowledge and advocate for effective policies that will shift the narrative towards a greener Britain. We believe that climate justice is only achievable with social justice.
Grants
Our grant making focuses on individuals and organisations working within, and across, our priority areas, by invitation only.
GBF is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to providing equality for all.
