SEO Marketing Executive

Location:
Stroud
Salary Details:
£22,000 - £28,000 DOE
Advertising End Date:
14 Oct 2019
About The Role

As SEO Marketing Executive, you’ll be creating and managing engaging content for an organisation with a unique and well-established voice in the energy industry – and ensuring it has the biggest digital impact.

Our scope is broader than any other energy company. Our work covers the three frontiers of energy, transport and food – between them, they account for 80% of our personal carbon emissions. As a result, you’ll be producing and managing varied content within those three broad themes.

You’ll work in the Digital Growth team, and you’ll develop and maintain a strong working relationship with digital marketing and commercial teams. Your work will be aligned to our Digital Marketing plans, and your focus will be on ensuring our digital identity is widely known and our content is widely read. And you’ll do all of this while remaining consistent with our unique brand and tone of voice.

You’ll work primarily on the Ecotricity website, but you’ll probably get involved in content for email and social media too.

What you will do…

  • Produce and manage written content to support our SEO and Digital Marketing plans
  • Maximise our SEO performance while working within our brand guidelines
  • Lead on our blog strategy, producing content to increase our brand's awareness
  • Ensure content is engaging for both customers and non-customers
  • Educate colleagues on the value of SEO, and ensure it’s an underlying thought for all web content
  • Measure the results of content marketing activities using tools such as Google Analytics and SEM Rush
  • Develop a test and learn approach to content – adapting content as necessary to improve results/reach and conversion
  • Work with our designers and video producer to enhance content with additional media
About You

You’ll be a great writer, and you’ll understand the importance of balancing SEO and tone of voice, the commercial and the creative. You’ll be able to write quickly and expertly from a brief, and will be capable of carefully adapting existing content so that it has greater digital impact.

You’ll already have taken the first steps in your marketing career, with experience working for an agency or in-house, and you’ll have experience of producing content within a digital marketing environment.

You’ll be seeking a role where you can have a direct impact on both business growth and the wider environment, while also developing your skills and experience.

The detail about you…

  • You’ll ideally have agency experience, or in-house experience
  • Excellent copy-writing skills
  • Excellent understanding and expert application of SEO (on-page, technical, link building) – demonstrated through experience working in an SEO-based role
  • Experience of related tools/software (CMS systems, Google Analytics, SEO tools)
  • You’ll understand Ecotricity’s mission and have the capability to ensure every bit of copy fits within our overarching message
About Us

Ecotricity is the greenest energy company in Britain. In fact, when we started back in 1995, we were the first green electricity company in the world.

Our mission was and remains to change the way energy is made and used – after introducing green electricity to the world, we introduced green gas to Britain in 2010 too.

Our model is unique: we use our customers’ energy bills to fund the building of new sources of green energy. We like to refer to this as turning ‘bills into mills’ – energy bills into energy mills, whether that’s wind, sun, sea or gasmills.

We’ve built over seventy wind and sun parks across Britain, we’re planning to build Britain’s first ever Green Gasmills, and through Britwind, our small wind company, we design, build and deliver small wind turbines to landowners and businesses throughout Britain and the world!

We don’t just focus on energy though – we built and run the Electric Highway, Britain’s leading network of electric car chargepoints, we helped Forest Green Rovers become the greenest football club in the world, and launched Britain’s greenest mobile phone service, Ecotalk.

We’re a not-for-dividend company too – which means we’re free to use the money we make for our mission and our mission alone.

We do all of this with the help of our customers – and the awesome team of people here at Ecotricity. Our people believe in our mission – they’re amazing at what they do, and they make a difference every day they come into work.
